Wow! I wasn’t sure that I’d ever get to see one of these in person, too bad it doesn’t belong to me though, I’m jealous Ian. I’m going to be removing a browning booster from its barrel jacket.
The plan is to use the Dremel Cutting Wheel to cut through the edge of the rivet where it has been welded all the way down to the barrel jacket. I should be able to pop the rivet out and then unscrew the booster from the barrel jacket. Removing the end cap is easy, just pull the pins and unscrew it from the booster.

The cutting wheel worked great, but I think that I got lucky because I’ve heard that some don’t have a rivet, they are just welded straight to the barrel jacket.
- Newer model of the Dremel Tool I use
- Dremel EZ Lock with Cutting discs
- Face Shield
- Birchwood Casey Super Blue
- Needle Files
The last bit to do is shape the weld and make the finish match the rest of the booster. I used the cutting wheel again, needle files, and Birchwood Casey Super Blue.

Lesson Learned
The Dremel Cutting Wheel is going to do almost all of the cutting and shaping. Files are only really good for removing burrs and sharp edges.
